About The English Fluency Project

I’m Richard, a New Zealand-based English conversation partner on iTalki. After completing a university degree in Spanish and graduating unable to hold a conversation, I discovered the input method and never looked back. I now help English learners build fluency through warm, natural conversation — no grammar drills, no constant correction, just real English on topics that genuinely interest you.

This blog shares everything I’ve learned about how language acquisition actually works. The core philosophy is simple. Fluency isn’t studied. It’s absorbed. Through massive reading and listening to compelling English. Through trusting your brain. Through speaking in a warm, low-pressure environment. And through enjoying the journey, because enjoyment isn’t a bonus. It’s the fuel.
